This originally started out as an amusing wordplay based on a certain song by the Beatles, with a working title of "Sergeant P*pp*r's Busy Day", but it eventually grew into its own thing. Arguably it counts as parody, but at the last minute I modified the lyrics and retitled it.
This is one of my favourites on the album, not least because of the reverse tape segment. The editing was all done with razorblades, and reproducing the exact timing from the demo in the final master was problematic, but I got there in the end.
lyrics
Thirty years or more ago
Bob the Bunny taught the world
A lesson in fire and blood
Thirty years or more ago
Bob the bunny built an ark
And sailed out on the flood
Thirty years or more ago
Bob the bunny taught my band
To play Mah-jongg and chess
Thirty years or more ago
Bob the bunny taught the Land
The meaning of the word ‘distress’
Un pur bonheur de prog rock, avec des claviers de ouf comme disent les djeuns ! De superbes mélodies... Un groupe que je ne connaissais pas encore ! Olivier SEGAS
With its debut album, this young band from Vienna follows the footsteps of honorable Austrian prog masters like "Matter Of Taste". The music on this concept album is not of the kind I'd call particularly innovative - it travels pretty much on well known roads paved by many others long ago. However, these youngsters do it in a highly pleasant way, skillfully avoiding the pitfalls of pseudo-progressive phrase rehashing most of the time - certainly more successfully so than several of their experienced grand paragons of prog.
